  这两年法学院的学生人数增长的速度是惊人的，现在实习都要分成两批了，而且传统的法
院检察院等实习单位已经无法接纳我们这么多的实习生了。

  实际上，还是有很多实习机会存在的，甚至有不少国外的仲裁机构也会面向中国学生提供
实习机会的，里面有不少都是能够学到很多东西的，而且还有不错的报酬。去年我曾经在这
里贴出过新加坡国际仲裁中心（SIAC）的实习项目公告，因为我曾经申请过那个项目，但是
由于竞争激烈后来就落败了。不过也确实是个机会。

  通过今年在深大举办的Jessup比赛，尤其是罗璇，骆睿等几位同学的优秀表现也让我们看
到了法学院还是有一大帮外语水平很棒，法律基础扎实的优秀同学的，更重要的是这些同学
还都有比较广阔的国际视野。如果大家在深大法学院学习期间能够争取到比较好的实习机会
的话对将来的求学或者就业肯定都是有很大的帮助的。实际上，美国的法学院的学生(JD)，
在二年级时就会争先恐后的寻找比较好的律师事务所或者其他的单位的实习机会，因为在美
国几乎所有的优秀律师事务所都是在自己的实习生中招聘正式员工的。

  由于工作需要，今天上了香港国际仲裁中心的网站，意外发现他们每年有两批实习生招募
计划，不过暑假的实习项目的申请时间已经过期，但是冬季实习项目的申请时间是在七月份
，感兴趣的同学也是应该可以提前准备的了。遗憾的是HKIAC并不提供任何报酬，相比于新
加坡国际仲裁中心（SIAC）每个月两千多新元的补助而言，确实是个小遗憾，但是实习最重
要的毕竟还是学习。

  Jessup比赛咱们都能取得那么优异的成绩，和那些所谓的比较牛x的学校的法学院学生一
起去竞争一个一流的实习机会，相信我们深大法学院的同学也一定会成功的。

  我上SIAC的网站没有发现近期有实习项目，感兴趣的同学也可以多多关注下。他们的网址

The Programme Objective

Our Internship Programme is designed to enable undergraduate and postgraduate
students to learn about Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolutions. Our
aim is to stretch the intellectual capacities of interns and give our interns a
sense of what Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution is about and to
prepare them for their future careers.

As there is a strong interest in our programme from students around the world
but limited supervision capacity on our part, we will limit ourselves to take
only a small number of interns for periods between May to September and
November to February each year.

Features of the Programme
Individually designed projects
One of the unique features of the HKIAC Internship Programme is that we design
research projects to suit the individual interests and abilities of each
intern. Although we provide close supervision for interns, this process allows
for the exercise of initiative and encourages independent thinking.
International dimension
Another aspect of the Programme is its global nature. Interns are likely to
interact with HKIAC’s international network of “thinkers, researchers and
facilitators,” as well as interns of different nationalities.
Involvement in HKIAC projects
Interns have the opportunity to be involved in HKIAC’s on-going projects,
which may include lectures, workshops, public presentations, facilitation, and
special visits.
Remuneration

Our programme is designed to help interns develop their intellectual capacities
first and foremost. We are unable to pay our interns but can reimburse them for
out of pocket expenses that are directly related to their research work, such
as the purchase of research materials.

* Overseas applicants should note that we are unable to cover cost of travel
and accommodation, although we will help applicants to find reasonably priced
accommodation to the extent that is possible.

Application Procedures

We accept students ranging from under graduate to post graduate students from
Hong Kong or overseas. For May to September internship deadline for application
is January of each year. For November to February internship deadline for
application is July of each year. Applicants should contact Mr. Christopher To
at adr@hkiac.org and where possible provide the following information:

Complete Form IP1
Curriculum vitae with photograph;
Preferred to Internship period (either May to September or November to February)
;
Areas of possible research interest;
One page A4 explaining why you would like to work at the HKIAC, and
Indicate your language abilities both spoken and written.

Selection Criteria

Our selection criteria are based upon:

1. How we perceive an applicant’s maturity and ability through how s/he
approaches us initially as well as how s/he handles subsequent communication
with us in discussing the potential internship opportunity;

2. Whether we perceive an applicant is able to do independent research;

3. Whether the potential intern can suggest interesting research areas (from
the intern’s perspective) s/he may like to do;

4. A minimum period of 8 weeks is required for all candidates; and

5. Whether we feel we can successfully coach and supervise what a potential
intern may wish to do during the internship period.
