LinuxVersion 2.5.46 of the 2.5 (development) branch of the Linux kernel has
just been released by Linus Torvalds. This release, which is another step
towards the final 2.6 kernel expected by June 2003 [story], features a
number of exciting new features; apart from the already-mentioned extended
attributes and ACLs for ext2 and ext3, hugetlbfs, v4l2 Video for Linux
layer and the Orlov block allocator for ext2 [story], this release also
features ACLs for JFS, initramfs, the first driverfs patches, usage of the
Orlov block allocator for ext3, a ucLinux merge (support for MMU-less
architectures) and, as usual, tons of fixes, updates and minor
improvements, including updates for the ARM, m68k and ia64 architectures.
